My belief is that fiction is entertainment and an opportunity for people to exercise their imagination. I recently posted a comment about the entertainment aspects of reading/writing fiction/historical fiction and plan to continue it soon with observations on imagination.
Many people today don't have some. We allow video games and movies to tell us how it was/is/will be and don't create our own pictures.
I have more to say, but I'll think about it (a bit slow, me) and put it in an upcoming post.
