I'm back after a delicious Christmas and New Year break. In between the partying I've been working on a new prose project and sifting the drafts of my current novel. I've also read some wonderful books - more on that in another post. Teaching at Goldsmiths starts again this week, so now I'll add that into the mix of each day, balancing my time between writing, reading, teaching - that's the freelance life ...
At the start of this brand new year, I'm going to make some changes to Words Unlimited.
Instead of Weekly Workshop I'll be posting Random Writing Prompts - these might turn up once a day, once a week, once a month - who knows? The Weekly Workshop images remain archived for anyone coming to Words Unlimited for the first time.
This week I'll start a new regular post, Quote of the Week. It will do what it says on the tin. A quote from something I've read - novel, poem, essay, review - the sort of thing that has you reaching for your pencil to underline as you read.
Book of the Month - what have I enjoyed reading most each month and why? I'll post this at the end of each month. I'd love you to add your book choices in the comments - tell me, and Words Unlimited readers, what’s been your favourite book of the month?
Author Interviews will carry on - I'm lining up new ones for 2011. There'll be reports on literary events - The T S Eliot Prize Readings and Awards Ceremony are coming up next week.
Wishing you a creative New Year!
